Jordan Means is first Jaguar to earn All-America recognition

Jordan Means has made history in becoming the first Jag to receive All-American recognition.

The placekicker received honorable mention from the NCAA Football Championship Subdivision (formerly NCAA Division I-AA) All-America selection by the Beyond Sports College Network.

Means a 6-foot-2, 200-pound senior from Hoover, Ala led USA with 62 points in the fall.

He becoming the first placekicker to pace the Jaguars in scoring in their first three years of competition

Georgia State versus Jags Preview

The Jags(4-2) will take on Georgia State(1-5) at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta at 2pm.

Georgia State is a on a five-game losing streak, and have been outscored 50-0 during that stretch of losses.

Should be an interesting contest.

Jags Defeat San Antonio in double-overtime

 It may have taken the Jags a couple of extra quarters, but they were able to defeat UTSA on Saturday afternoon.

The Jags won by a score of 30-27, after a double OT winning touchdown score by Demetre Baker. The win for the Jaguars snapped a two game losing streak.

Jags suspends defensive back Damond Smith

Damond Smith, who has started all four games this season for the Jags has been suspended indefinitely for "a violation of team and departmental rules.''

Smith a transfer from Western Michigan, is  the teams sixth-leading tackler, did not make the trip with the team Frioday for Saturday's game against Texas-San Antonio.

Head coach Joey Jones said the suspension is indefinite but he had no further comment about the suspension.
